KENNEDY SPACE CENTER
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex at Cape Canaveral is the hub of the United States exploration program housing the Space Vehicle launch facility as well as the Launch Control Center . These facilities are located on Merritt Island , a huge island which is primarily a Wildlife Refuge.
As a major tourist attraction, the center receives millions of visitors from around the world who come to admire the technological advance and discover the accomplishments made in the sector of space exploration and have a glimpse at what the future holds for mankind.
Here, visitors learn the fascinating history of American space conquests in various displays throughout these facilities dedicated to space activities, located just 45 minutes East of Orlando.
Tour NASA's launch headquarters, view the Space Shuttle launch pad, enjoy a 3 dimensional space film at one of the 2 MAX theaters and relive the spectacular moon landing at the Apollo/Saturn Center and while there, visit the Astronaut Hall of Fame.
There are 2 MAX theaters and a number of museums where the technical achievements of space exploration are preserved in an educational manner for those interested in learning about the space age.
There are tour buses available which will take you around some restricted areas which can be observed from a distance.
